Brad Watson
Brad Watson (1955–2020) was an American author born in Meridian, Mississippi, known for his critically acclaimed novels *The Heaven of Mercury* and *Miss Jane*, and short story collections *Last Days of the Dog-Men* and *Aliens in the Prime of Their Lives*. His work earned numerous awards, including the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and shortlists for the National Book Award. He taught creative writing at institutions like Harvard, the University of Alabama, and the University of Wyoming, where he directed the program until his death.
