Boethius

Anicius Manlius Severinus Boethius was a Roman senator, consul, and philosopher of the early 6th century. He is best known for his work 'The Consolation of Philosophy,' composed while imprisoned, which became one of the most influential texts in medieval and Renaissance thought. He also translated and commented on Aristotle and contributed to music and theology.
