Birgit Haehnel

Birgit Haehnel is a German art historian and professor specializing in art and textile sciences with a focus on transculturality at the University of Osnabrück since 2021. She studied art history, sociology, and ethnology at the universities of Münster, Vienna, and Trier from 1989 to 1996, earning her Ph.D. from the University of Trier in 2004, and previously worked as an independent scholar in Vienna, authoring works on topics like slavery in art and literature, ethnicity, gender, postcolonialism, and critical whiteness.[1][2][3][5][6]
