Bill George

Bill George is a leadership expert and former chairman and CEO of Medtronic, where he served as president and COO from 1989, CEO from 1991 to 2001, and board chair from 1996 to 2002, growing the company's market capitalization from $1.1 billion to $60 billion.[1][4][6] He is currently an executive education fellow at Harvard Business School, having taught leadership there since 2004, and is the author of best-selling books including True North, Authentic Leadership, and 7 Lessons for Leading in Crisis.[2][9] George earned a BSIE from Georgia Tech in 1964 and an MBA from Harvard in 1966, with earlier roles at the U.S. Department of Defense, Litton Industries, and Honeywell.[1][6]
