Bernhard Nebel

Bernhard Nebel is a German computer scientist and artificial intelligence researcher born on May 6, 1956, in Hamburg. He earned his diploma from the University of Hamburg in 1980 and his PhD from Saarland University in 1989, later becoming a full professor at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg from 1996 until his retirement in 2022. Nebel is renowned for his contributions to AI foundations, with numerous awards including AAAI Fellow, ACM Fellow, and membership in the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
