Bennett L. Schwartz

Bennett L. Schwartz is a Professor of Psychology at Florida International University, specializing in metacognition, human memory, and related topics such as tip-of-the-tongue states and adaptive memory.[1][2][3] Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, New York, he earned his A.B. (1988) and Ph.D. (1993) in Cognitive Psychology from Dartmouth College.[1][2] He has authored nearly 100 publications, including textbooks like Memory: Foundations and Applications (5th ed., 2026) and Sensation and Perception (3rd ed., 2024), and serves as editor of Memory & Cognition.[1]
