Benjamin Leopold Farjeon

Benjamin Leopold Farjeon (1838–1903) was an English novelist, playwright, printer, and journalist born in London to Orthodox Jewish parents. He emigrated to Australia at 17, worked on goldfields, became editor of New Zealand's Otago Daily Times, and returned to England in 1868 to pursue a prolific literary career, producing nearly 60 novels influenced by Dickens and Wilkie Collins, including mysteries and Christmas stories.[1][2][3]
