Belle Yang (Author, Illustrator)

Belle Yang is a Taiwanese-American artist, author, and illustrator born in Taiwan in 1960. She emigrated to the United States at age seven and later studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz (biology) and art schools including the Beijing Institute of Traditional Chinese Painting. Her work focuses on preserving her family's stories of immigration and life in China, particularly through her acclaimed trilogy about her father's exodus from war-torn China.
