Barbara Newman

Barbara Newman is the John Evans Professor of Latin and Professor of English, Classics, and History at Northwestern University, where she earned her Ph.D. from Yale in 1981. She has published extensively on medieval religious culture, particularly works by, for, and about religious women, with notable books including *God and the Goddesses* and *Medieval Crossover*. Her research also encompasses comparative literature and women's spirituality.[1][3][7]
