Barbara Michaels

Barbara Michaels was the pseudonym of American author Barbara Louise Mertz, who also wrote as Elizabeth Peters. She earned a PhD in Egyptology from the University of Chicago and was best known for mystery, suspense, gothic, and supernatural novels, including the Amelia Peabody series.
