Barbara Guest

Barbara Guest (1920–2006) was an American poet and prose stylist associated with the first generation of the New York School. Born in Wilmington, North Carolina and later based in Berkeley, California, she published more than 15 books of poetry and also wrote fiction, criticism, essays, and a notable biography of the poet H.D.
