Barbara Demick

Barbara Demick is an American journalist and author known for her books on life in North Korea, Tibet, Sarajevo, and China's one-child policy, including Nothing to Envy, Eat the Buddha, Logavina Street, and Daughters of the Bamboo Grove.[1][2][3] She served as bureau chief for the Los Angeles Times in Beijing, Seoul, and New York, and previously reported from the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and other regions for the Philadelphia Inquirer.[2][3] A Yale College graduate from New Jersey, her work has earned awards such as the Samuel Johnson Prize, Polk Award, and Robert F. Kennedy Award.[3]
