Baltasar Gracián y Morales was a renowned Spanish Jesuit philosopher, writer, and literary theorist of the Baroque period, celebrated as a leading exponent of conceptismo. His most famous works include the philosophical allegory 'El Criticón' and the moral guide 'El Oráculo manual y arte de prudencia', which have influenced thinkers like Voltaire and Nietzsche. He is considered one of the greatest prose masters of Spain's Golden Age.
