Austin Sarat
Austin Sarat (born November 2, 1947) is an American political scientist and the William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Jurisprudence and Political Science at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He is a pioneering scholar in the humanistic and cultural study of law, with primary research interests focused on the death penalty, law and violence, and the relationship between law and film. Sarat has authored, co-authored, or edited more than ninety books in the fields of law and political science.
