Arwa Salih was an Egyptian leftist writer and activist best known for her book *The Stillborn: Notebooks of a Woman from the Student-Movement Generation in Egypt*, which reflects on political disillusionment and the fate of her generation.[1][2][3] She was born in 1951 and died by suicide in 1997.[1][2]
