Armand Borel
Armand Borel was a Swiss mathematician known for major contributions to algebraic topology, Lie groups, and the modern theory of linear algebraic groups. He was a professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton from 1957 to 1993 and received honors including the Brouwer Medal, the Steele Prize, and the Balzan Prize.
