April Pulley Sayre
April Pulley Sayre (1966–2021) was an acclaimed American children's book author and photo-illustrator known for her nonfiction works on natural history, animals, weather, and conservation, publishing over 80 books during her career.[1][3] Before writing, she worked at the National Wildlife Federation and National Geographic Society, holding a B.A. in biology from Duke University and an M.F.A. in creative writing from Vermont College.[1][2] Her lyrical, scientifically precise picture books, often featuring her own photography, immersed young readers in nature and earned numerous awards.[2][9]
