Anya Krugovoy Silver
Anya Krugovoy Silver was an award-winning poet, scholar, and professor known for her poetry exploring her experience with inflammatory breast cancer, published in four collections including *The Ninety-Third Name of God* and *Second Bloom*. Born in Media, Pennsylvania, to a Ukrainian father and German mother, she earned a Ph.D. from Emory University and taught English literature at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, from 1998 until her death. She received the Georgia Author of the Year award in 2015 and a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2018.
