Antonio Machado
Antonio Machado (1875-1939) was a prominent Spanish poet and key figure in the Generation of '98, known for his evolution from modernism to an intimate symbolism with romantic traits, as seen in works like 'Soledades' and 'Campos de Castilla'. Born in Seville, he studied in Madrid and Paris, taught French in Spain, and supported the Spanish Republic, fleeing into exile in 1939 where he died shortly after.[1][2][3]
