Antoinette Portis

Antoinette Portis is an award-winning author and illustrator of children's picture books, best known for her debut *Not A Box*, a New York Times bestseller, ALA Seuss Geisel Honor book, and one of the New York Times Ten Best Illustrated Books of the Year. She earned a BFA from the UCLA School of Fine Arts, worked in graphic design and advertising, rising to creative director and VP at Disney, before leaving to pursue her lifelong dream of creating picture books; she is also a recipient of the 2010 Sendak Fellowship. Portis lives in Southern California, where she enjoys reading and drawing with kids in local schools.
