Anthony Marais

Anthony Marais (born 1966 in Hollywood, California) is an American writer, musician, academic, and former circus performer whose writing explores culture, alchemy, and human delusions. He trained in circus arts from a young age in South Africa, touring internationally as a trapeze artist with groups like the Star Lords, before transitioning to stunt coordination and second unit direction on films and TV series such as 'The Adventures of Sinbad' and 'The Professionals.' Since 1995, he has lived in Germany, publishing novels and working as a screenwriter while studying language and art history in Paris.
