Anthony Browne (Author, Illustrator)

Anthony Browne is a British author and illustrator of children's picture books, born in Sheffield, Yorkshire in 1946. He has published over 50 books and is renowned for his detailed illustrations that combine realism with surrealism and humor, most famously exemplified in his 1983 book Gorilla. He served as the UK Children's Laureate from 2009 to 2011 and won the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2000, becoming the first British illustrator to receive this highest honor for children's illustration.
