Anthony Atala

Anthony Atala is an American bioengineer, urologist, and pediatric surgeon best known for his pioneering work in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. He is the founding director of the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine and has helped develop the first lab-grown organ implanted into a human, as well as early 3D bioprinting technologies.
