Anne Sexton

Anne Sexton (born Anne Gray Harvey) was an American poet renowned for her confessional poetry that intimately explored her struggles with bipolar disorder, depression, suicidal tendencies, and personal relationships.[1][2] She achieved critical acclaim with works like 'To Bedlam and Part Way Back' (1960) and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1967 for 'Live or Die,' addressing taboo subjects through myths and archetypes.[1][2][3] Sexton died by suicide in 1974 after a lifetime of mental health battles and institutionalizations.[1][2][3]
