Anne Frank
Anne Frank (Annelies Marie Frank) was a German-born Jewish diarist whose wartime diary, written while she and her family hid from Nazi persecution in Amsterdam, became one of the most famous accounts of the Holocaust. Arrested in August 1944, she later died in Bergen-Belsen in February or March 1945; her diary was published posthumously and remains widely read around the world.
