Ann Purser

Ann Purser was born in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, and has lived most of her life in villages, working in diverse roles including journalism for SHE magazine, keeping hens and donkeys, running an art gallery, and serving as a clerical assistant in a village school.[1][3] She began her writing career with nonfiction and village life novels like the Round Ringford series before creating two mystery series: one featuring Lois Meade starting with Murder on Monday, and another with Ivy Beasley.[1][7] An Open University graduate, mother of three, and avid reader of detective stories, she is married to critic and writer Philip Purser.[3]
