Ann-Marie James
Ann-Marie James (b. 1981) is a British contemporary artist born in Buckinghamshire, UK, who studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins (BA 2001–04), Chelsea College of Art and Design (Postgraduate Diploma 2010), and Wimbledon College of Art (MA 2010–12). She currently lives and works in Suffolk, creating complex abstract compositions by layering paint, print, and drawing over found images from 18th- and 19th-century paintings and sculptures, exploring themes of change, metamorphosis, and dialogue with the cultural past. Her work is held in collections including the British Museum, V&A, and British School at Rome, with notable residencies at The British School at Rome and in Japan and the USA.
