Ann Bowman Jannetta

Ann Bowman Jannetta (born 1932) is an American academic, historian, author, and Japanologist. She is Professor of History Emerita at the University of Pittsburgh, specializing in the history of epidemics, mortality, and medical knowledge in early modern and 19th-century Japan. Her notable works include 'Epidemics and Mortality in Early Modern Japan' and 'The Vaccinators: Smallpox, Medical Knowledge, and the "Opening" of Japan.'
