Ann Baker
Anne Baker (née Salmond) was a British writer of historical biographies, fundraiser, and supercentenarian, born on 14 May 1914 as the daughter of Sir Geoffrey Salmond, head of the Royal Air Force. Educated at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, she lived in Egypt and India, married Valentine Baker at Hampton Court Palace, and raised five children while fundraising for over 60 years for the NSPCC, earning an MBE in 2021 at age 106. She died in Salisbury on 23 September 2025 at the age of 111.
