Anica Mrose Rissi

Anica Mrose Rissi is an award-winning American author of children's books, chapter books, middle grade novels, picture books, and young adult fiction, including the Anna, Banana series, Hide and Don’t Seek, and Nobody Knows But You.[1][2][5] She grew up on Deer Isle off the coast of Maine, graduated from Yale University in 2001 with a degree in American Studies, and worked for many years as an executive editor in children's book publishing in New York City before becoming a full-time writer.[1][2][3] She currently lives near Princeton, New Jersey, plays fiddle in the band Owen Lake and the Tragic Loves, and has published essays in The New York Times and The Writer.[1][2][5]
