Andy Alaszewski

Andy Alaszewski (1949–2026) was a British academic and Emeritus Professor of Health Studies at the University of Kent, specializing in health, risk, and society. Born to Polish refugees in Lewisham, he earned a BA in Social Anthropology and a PhD in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and founded the journal Health, Risk & Society. He authored works like Using Diaries for Social Research and researched topics including stroke recovery and health policy before retiring in 2010 and passing away in Ashford.
