Andrzej Sapkowski

Andrzej Sapkowski is a Polish fantasy writer best known for his 'The Witcher' series, featuring the monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, which has been translated into 37 languages and adapted into video games, TV, and more. Born in Łódź in 1948, he is an economist by training who debuted in 1986 with the short story 'The Witcher' after working in foreign trade. He has won numerous awards, including five Janusz A. Zajdel Awards, the David Gemmell Award, and the World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement.
