Andrew Solomon
Andrew Solomon is an American writer, lecturer, and activist on politics, culture, psychology, LGBTQ rights, and mental health, best known for his National Book Award-winning book *The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression* (2001), a Pulitzer finalist, and *Far from the Tree* (2012). A native New Yorker, he graduated from Horace Mann School (1981), Yale University magna cum laude (BA 1985), and earned master's and PhD degrees in English and psychology from Cambridge University. He has contributed to *The New York Times Magazine* and *The New Yorker*, served as president of PEN America, and holds professorships at Columbia University and Yale.
