Andrew Sinclair

Andrew Annandale Sinclair (1935–2019) was a British novelist, historian, biographer, critic, filmmaker, and publisher known for his extraordinary fluency in both fiction and American social history. Educated at Eton and Cambridge, where he earned a Ph.D. in American history and was a founding member of Churchill College, he authored notable works including the Albion Triptych (*Gog*, *Magog*, *King Ludd*) and histories like *Prohibition: The Era of Excess*. He also directed films, managed Lorrimer Publishing, and contributed to screenwriting.
