Andrew McGahan

Andrew McGahan was an acclaimed Australian novelist born in Dalby, Queensland, known for his debut novel Praise, a seminal work in the grunge lit genre, and his Miles Franklin Award-winning novel The White Earth. He wrote across diverse genres including crime, gothic fiction, satire, science fiction, and young adult fantasy, receiving numerous accolades such as the Australian/Vogel Literary Award and the Ned Kelly Award. McGahan died of pancreatic cancer in Melbourne on 1 February 2019 at the age of 52.
