Anatole Kopp

Anatole Kopp (1915–1990) was a French architect, urbanist, and Marxist historian renowned as the leading Western scholar of Soviet architecture and a key figure in rediscovering Russian Constructivism for the West. Born in Petrograd (Saint Petersburg) to a Jewish family that fled to Paris after the Bolshevik Revolution, he became a committed communist militant and designed public housing in France and Algeria while authoring foundational works like Town and Revolution (1967).
