Amy Jacques Garvey

Amy Jacques Garvey was a Jamaican-born journalist, publisher, and activist best known for her leadership in the Pan-African and Black nationalist movements and for her work with the Universal Negro Improvement Association. She was the second wife of Marcus Garvey and helped edit and promote his writings while also advancing Black women’s voices through her own journalism and essays.
