American Academy of Pediatrics
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is the largest professional association of pediatricians in the United States, founded in 1930 by 35 pediatricians to address pediatric healthcare standards and children's health needs.[1][2][5] Headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, with an office in Washington, D.C., it now has approximately 67,000 members including primary care pediatricians, subspecialists, and surgical specialists dedicated to the optimal physical, mental, and social health of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.[1][4][6] The AAP publishes policy statements, the journal Pediatrics, and AAP News to support its mission.[1]
