Alma Flor Ada

Alma Flor Ada is a Cuban-American author of over 200 children's books, poetry, novels, and educational works, renowned for promoting bilingualism, multicultural education, and Latino culture.[1][2][4] Born in Camagüey, Cuba, she became Professor Emerita at the University of San Francisco, advocating for social justice and literacy through her writing and teaching.[1][2][3] Her acclaimed titles include 'The Gold Coin' (Christopher Medal), 'Under the Royal Palms' (Pura Belpré Medal), and 'Gathering the Sun' (Once Upon a World).[5][6]
