Allen Davenport Bragdon
Allen Davenport Bragdon was an American author, editor, and publisher born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joanna (Davenport) and Clifford R. Bragdon. He attended the Putney School in Vermont and Reed College, where he wrote a thesis on 'The Comic Vision of Christopher Fry.' Bragdon had a distinguished career in publishing with Doubleday, Macmillan Publishers, and American Heritage, and authored works including the Golden Family Craft Treasury; he passed away at age 92 in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts.
