Allan Chapman

Allan Chapman FRAS (1946–2026) was a British historian of science based at Oxford University's Faculty of History, where he was an Associate Member. He was a leading expert in the history of astronomy and authored numerous biographies, including works on Robert Hooke and Mary Somerville, while also writing and presenting television programmes on science and astronomy.
