Alison Thorne
Alison Comish Thorne was an American economist who, in 1938, became the first woman to receive a Ph.D. in the Economics Department of Iowa State College. She was also an advocate for the Equal Rights Amendment and contributed to the Women's Studies Program at USU. Her legacy includes extensive correspondence, research papers, and unpublished writings spanning from 1925 to 2003[2][3].
