Alice Provensen
Alice Provensen (born Alice Rose Twitchell) was a renowned children's book illustrator born on August 14, 1918, in Chicago, Illinois, who began her career in animation before collaborating with her husband Martin Provensen on over 40 books starting in the mid-1940s.[3][4] Together they won the Caldecott Medal for *The Glorious Flight* in 1984, and after Martin's death in 1987, she continued producing acclaimed solo works inspired by her farm life in upstate New York until her death in 2018.[2][3][4]
