Ali Hazelwood

Ali Hazelwood is the pen name of an Italian romance novelist and former neuroscience professor based in the United States, whose debut novel *The Love Hypothesis* became a #1 New York Times bestseller after originating as Star Wars fan fiction. Born and raised in Italy, she lived in Japan and Germany before moving to the US for her PhD in neuroscience, where she researched brain stimulation and cognitive neuroscience, and she left her professorship in 2022 to write full-time. Her works often feature women in STEM and include popular titles like *Love on the Brain*, *Love, Theoretically*, and paranormal romances such as *Bride* and *Mate*.[1][2][5]
