Alfred Znamierowski
Alfred Znamierowski (1940–2019) was a renowned Polish vexillologist, heraldist, illustrator, and journalist who designed hundreds of coats of arms, flags, banners, and seals for over 200 municipalities and institutions. Born in Warsaw, he studied geography at Warsaw University, emigrated to France in 1966 as a political refugee, and became one of the world's leading figures in vexillology, receiving prestigious awards like the Vexillon and honors from the Polish government.
