Alexei Suetin
Alexey Stepanovich Suetin (1926–2001) was a Soviet and Russian chess grandmaster, author, trainer, and theoretician, best known for his expertise on the Queen’s Gambit Declined and for training World Champion Tigran Petrosian. A late bloomer, he earned the Soviet Master title in 1950, International Master in 1961, and Grandmaster in 1965, while competing in ten USSR Championships and becoming a multiple-time Belarus champion. He won the World Senior Chess Championship in 1996 and authored numerous chess books.
