Alexander Woollcott
Alexander Humphreys Woollcott (1887–1943) was an American drama critic for The New York Times and New York Herald, commentator for The New Yorker, member of the Algonquin Round Table, playwright, actor, and radio personality known for his acerbic wit. He championed artists like the Marx Brothers, authored books such as While Rome Burns, and influenced public opinion through his journalism and broadcasts. Woollcott died suddenly at age 56 during a radio broadcast.[1][2]
