Alex van Halen
Alexander Arthur Van Halen, born May 8, 1953, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is an American musician best known as the drummer and co-founder of the rock band Van Halen, formed in 1972 with his younger brother Eddie Van Halen.[1][2] The family immigrated to the United States around 1962, settling in Pasadena, California, where the brothers started playing in bands and launched Van Halen, which became one of the most influential hard rock bands with 12 studio albums.[2][3] In 2024, Alex released the book *Brothers*, a memoir dedicated to Eddie, who died in 2020.[1][5]
