Alex Sanchez

Alex Sanchez (born 1957) is a Mexican American author of award-winning young adult novels exploring themes of love, friendship, coming of age, and LGBT youth experiences. His debut novel, Rainbow Boys (2001), was selected as a Best Book for Young Adults by the American Library Association, and subsequent works like Getting It and Bait have earned additional accolades including the Lambda Literary Award and Florida Book Award. With a master's in guidance and counseling, he spent years working as a counselor for youth and families before focusing on writing.
