Alex Honnold is an American rock climber best known for his free solo ascent of El Capitan's Freerider route in Yosemite National Park on June 3, 2017, documented in the Oscar-winning film Free Solo. He co-authored the memoir Alone on the Wall (2015) with David Roberts, offering insights into his mindset and experiences. Honnold founded the Honnold Foundation in 2012 to promote solar energy access globally.
